Dismissing Your Student?

Brookside Dismissal Procedure:

***FOR EARLY DISMISSALS FROM SCHOOL, ALL STUDENTS MUST BE DISMISSED FROM THE OFFICE***

  • All families have been provided with a dismissal notepad.  Please use this notepad in the event that you need to dismiss your student.  Submit this note to the student's teacher at arrival.

  • In the event that you do not have this notepad, please provide a written note, email, or Talking Points message to your student's teacher as early as possible.

  • The note/email/message must include the following:

            -Student's first and last name

            -Student's teacher

            -Date and time of dismissal

            -Reason for dismissal

-Parent/Guardian - printed name and signature

            -Parent/Guardian phone number

  • The teacher will send the dismissal information to the office.

  • The office will record it in the student information system and call the classroom when the student is to be dismissed.

  • A medical/legal note is needed for the dismissal to be excused.

  • Students will not be dismissed after 2:40 as this causes confusion during the school's dismissal process.

  • In the event that no advance notice has been given, and persons other than the parent/ guardian seek to dismiss a student, the school will contact the parent/guardian to verify the dismissal request. After verification the standard procedure for dismissal will be followed. It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to notify the school of any unusual or legal circumstances that may impact a student’s safety. (i.e., restraining orders, custodial rights, etc.)
