Leadership
Victoria Houston- Principal
I must say that it is a privilege to be the Principal of Brookside Elementary School. My name is Victoria Houston, and I feel extremely lucky to work with our amazing, intelligent, funny and curious students on a daily basis. My favorite part of my daily routine is to visit the classrooms and be visible throughout the school so I can engage with all our students. It is my goal to ensure Brookside is a safe and welcoming environment for each of our students so they can grow academically, socially and physically to reach their greatest potential.
I have been working in the Milford Public School District since 1997 in a variety of different roles. I have been an Administrator in Milford since 2016, starting my administrative career as the Assistant Director of Special Education, then Assistant Principal of Brookside in 2020 and finally Principal in 2022. I have my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Framingham State College and my Master’s Degree in Special Education from Providence College.
I have two adult daughters that were raised in Milford and are also pursuing their career in education. My personal interests include spending time with my family, staying active, going to the beach and taking care of my dogs!
I feel there is something special about Brookside School and I look forward to working with your family and watching your child grow!
Nicola Ansdell- Assistant Principal
Welcome to Brookside Elementary! I appreciate the opportunity to serve as Assistant Principal of Brookside and look forward to working together and sharing the early school experiences of your child(ren).
I earned both my undergraduate degree and my Masters in the Arts of Teaching at Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts. While earning my Masters, I had the privilege of completing a full year of student teaching in a grade 1 classroom in Worcester and then had the pleasure of teaching Kindergarten and First Grade. After five years in the classroom, I moved on to be an Instructional Coach in New Bedford Public Schools, where I got to celebrate, support and improve the teaching and learning of the educators in K-5 schools. While working as an Instructional Coach, I went back to school and earned my Doctorate in Leadership in Schooling. Two years before joining the Milford Public Schools as Assistant Principal, I served as the Assistant Principal of a K-5 school in New Bedford.
I am proud to be a member of the Brookside community and am excited to support you and your students. Please contact me anytime.
